The BKE Flame Arresters is an essential safety system on all of our combustion products. In fact, we will not even sell you a biogas system that doesn't include them as they are that important to protect your people, plant, and equipment.

Our flame arrester allows gases or liquids to pass through while preventing the transmission of flames. It works by absorbing the heat from a flame, which lowers the temperature of the burning gas/air mixture below its auto-ignition temperature, stopping the flame from surviving. This helps prevent larger fires or explosions.

For biogas, which is highly corrosive and combustible, it is essential that flame arresters are made from stainless steel to prevent corrosion. To ensure the highest level of quality and safety, BKE Flame Arresters are designed to the criteria of EN 12874 and ATEX 137 standards.

BKE Biogas Flame Arresters are available in two configurations:

END-OF-LINE FLAME ARRESTERS are designed for applications such as biogas flares, biogas burners, or ventilation ports.

IN-LINE FLAME ARRESTERS are designed for inline biogas piping where there is ignition possibilty.
